ODETTE ENGLAND

Odette England (b. 1975, Australia) is a visual artist, writer, and scholar. Her work has been exhibited worldwide in over 110 museums and galleries. It is held in collections including the Museum of Modern Art, George Eastman Museum, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Photography, and New Mexico Museum of Art.

She is a 2022 Guggenheim Foundation Fellow and has received grants and accolades from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Puffin Foundation, Polycopies & Co, PhMuseum, Foam, and Anonymous Was a Woman, among many others. She has published four award-winning photo books and has another two coming out in 2024.

Her book with Skinnerboox Women Wearing Ring Shields Face from Flash was shortlisted for the 2023 Images Vevey Book Award and selected as a Book of the Month by the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson.

England graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2012 and received her Ph.D. in Art & Art History in 2018.
