About

Born Cardiff 1953, graduated Manchester Polytechnic 1976. Exhibited in two person show with William Eggleston, Arnolfini, Bristol, 1984, and worked with him in USA in summer 1984.
20 year retrospective at The Photographers Gallery, London, 2002.
Fraser was shortlisted for the 2004 CitiBank International Photography Prize (with David Golblatt, Joel Sternfeld and Robert Adams).
A City in the Mind, works inspired by Italo Calvino and his novel; Invisible Cities exhibited at Brancolini Grimaldi, London, and published by Steidl, Germany,

30 year retrospective at Tate St Ives, 2013, major Tate Monograph published, and work purchased by Tate in 2014.
Peter Fraser travelled from Norway to Sicily, and Northern Ireland to Istanbul between 2011 and 2016 making the photographs for Mathematics.

His work is held in collections worldwide including, Tate, The British Council, Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Foundation A Stichting, Brussels, Mast Foundation, Bologna, Siemens Collection, Munich.
